GEORGIA TURKEY HUNTING
Turkey Hunting History
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources released turkeys in 1973. They continued releasing turkeys under the Georgia wild turkey restoration program until 1996. These Wild Turkeys are taking full advantage of game feeders, and they are now large grain fed birds. It is estimated that over 400,000 Wild Turkeys exist in Georgia.
